Portageville came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Charleston Bluejays with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Portageville took every set by at least 18 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-7, 25-5.

Gloriaha Farmer paced Portageville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Farmer got some help from Lexi Priggel and her 13 assists. Aubree Trover controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Portageville's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Charleston, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Portageville will challenge Viburnum at 5:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Charleston, they will welcome New Madrid County Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
