Baseball Recap: Rice Consolidated Takes a Loss

Rice Consolidated was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Yoakum Bulldogs, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 last Tuesday.

Rice Consolidated saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keenan Hailey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Rice Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Yoakum, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rice Consolidated is set to square off against their familiar foe Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Yoakum will challenge rival Edna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Bulldogs' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Cowboys have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
