Volleyball Game Preview: Crane Cranes vs. Denver City Mustangs

Crane hasn't had much luck against Denver City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cranes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Crane will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Brownfield, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Cranes were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cubs on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cranes.

Crane never let Brownfield on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-15, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Denver City posted their closest victory since August 28th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Compass Academy. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-90) Denver City actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 12-25, 25-23, 13-25, 15-7.

Denver City's win bumped their record up to 27-8. As for Crane, their victory bumped their record up to 13-15.
