Football Recap: Jacksonville Crimsons vs. Cahokia Comanches
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jacksonville can now relate to. They came up short against the Cahokia Comanches on Saturday, falling 36-13. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, the Crimsons couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jacksonville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Jackson, who picked up 91 receiving yards, and also rushed for 60 yards on only seven carries. Easton Ackerman was another key back, rushing for 128 yards.
Leading Cahokia to victory were Nigel Gooden and Machai Henderson. Gooden threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, while Henderson rushed for 125 yards and one score. Henderson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 125 rushing yards.
