Dixie was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Hornets who were credited with the victory. The Dixie Hornets got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Cambridge Academy Cougars's one. This was payback for Dixie, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Ella Felter, who's now up to four this season.

Dixie is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six matches. Having lost for the first time this season, Cambridge Academy fell to 4-1.

Coming up, Dixie will face off against Pendleton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cambridge Academy, they will square off against Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Cambridge Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season.
