Soccer Game Preview: Rio Grande City vs. Martin

The Rio Grande City Rattlers are taking a road trip to face off against the Martin Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Grande City will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.

Last Friday, Rio Grande City got the win against Mission Veterans Memorial by a conclusive 5-2. The result was nothing new for the Rattlers, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Martin). They never let Cigarroa get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Rio Grande City pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matches. As for Martin, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
