Soccer Recap: Batavia Takes a Loss

Batavia lost against Sycamore back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. While losing is never fun, Batavia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Sycamore are ranked 122nd).

Batavia is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Sycamore, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Batavia will welcome Hinsdale Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sycamore, they will venture away from home to take on LaSalle-Peru at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sycamore's defense better be ready for this one: LaSalle-Peru have averaged an impressive 3.2 goals per game this season.
