1A Caribou Trail recap October 22, 2013
Quincy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in 1A Caribou Trail. The Jackrabbits defeated Tonasket 44-6 earlier in the week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Cashmere beat Brewster 59-24. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Quincy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dallas Bassett threw for 134 and 2 touchdowns and Connor Trevino had 60 yards receiving. On the ground John Lindquist contributed 171 yards. Lindquist helped Quincy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 50 yards.
Bassett put up the best numbers through the air as Stephen Wallace's team beat the Tigers. Bassett's favorite target this week was Trevino, who caught 3 passes for 60 yards.
The Jackrabbits' Bassett and Trevino led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Bassett has thrown for 1,081 yards this season, while Trevino has 25 catches for 534 yards. Chelan's Kai Clausen leads the league in rushing yards with 780.
An important game coming up in 1A Caribou Trail this week will be when Cashmere takes on the Mountain Goats. At the moment, Phil Zukowski's team is in second, while Chelan is in third.
The Bulldogs led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on the Bears.
