Basketball Game Preview: Middleton Tigers vs. Fairley Bulldogs

The Middleton Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Fairley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Middleton challenged McNairy Central last Thursday. Middleton enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over McNairy Central.

While Fairley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 84-54 stomp they got against First Assembly Christian. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Fairley's win came from a few key players Middleton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alarin Polk, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten assists, and ten steals. Isaiah Grant was another key player, going 10 of 12 on his way to 23 points.

Fairley was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Fairley's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Middleton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
