Basketball Recap: Emily West Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

There's no place like home for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against the South Davidson Wildcats by a score of 35-28 on Friday.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily West, who posted 14 points and six steals. What's more, West also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacie Whitt, who earned two points and four blocks.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for South Davidson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-29 victory against Father Capodanno on the 6th. As for South Davidson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-30 loss against East Davidson on the 7th.
