Basketball Game Preview: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Barnwell Warhorses

The Williston-Elko Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Barnwell Warhorses at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Monday, Williston-Elko didn't have quite enough to beat Bamberg-Ehrhardt and fell 50-48. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Barnwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Blackville-Hilda. While the Warhorses didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Fighting Hawks 14-9 in the first quarter.

Williston-Elko now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Barnwell, they now have a losing record at 0-1.

Williston-Elko strolled past Barnwell in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 63-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williston-Elko since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
