Basketball Recap: Kearney Catholic Falls Despite Big Games from Oliver Sharp and Will Hogeland

Kearney Catholic lost against Ashland-Greenwood back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kearney Catholic Stars took a 48-29 bruising from the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays. The Stars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Will Hogeland and Oliver Sharp certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hogeland posted ten points and six boards, while Sharp had seven points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Sharp has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Axmann, who earned four points.

Kearney Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Kearney Catholic has already played their next game, a 60-53 victory against Gothenburg on the 14th. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-32 win against Adams Central on the 15th.
