Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Knightstown Panthers

The Centerville Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Knightstown Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Centerville fell victim to New Castle and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Trojans. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Centerville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Lear, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Meanwhile, Knightstown also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against New Palestine on Monday, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost eight in a row.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 8-2. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Centerville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Knightstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
