Basketball Recap: Sultan's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Sultan lost against Cedarcrest back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sultan Turks took a 41-25 bruising from the Cedarcrest Red Wolves. The game marked the Turks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Cedarcrest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Belle Gellner, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Gellner is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Rogers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Sultan's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Cedarcrest, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.

Sultan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-38 victory against Mount Vernon Christian on the 21st. Cedarcrest has also already played their next matchup, a 54-40 win against Lindbergh on the 22nd.
