Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was the 10-0 winner over Newman Smith when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Independence Knights took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newman Smith Trojans on Thursday.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Newman Smith, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-2-3 record this season.

Independence has already played their next match (against Westlake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Newman Smith, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against McKinney on the 7th.
