Football Game Preview: Wekiva Mustangs vs. Belleview Rattlers

The Wekiva Mustangs will face off against the Belleview Rattlers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wekiva hasn't scored more than 13 points for eight games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Wekiva is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They managed a 6-2 win over Edgewater. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, while Belleview put up plenty of points two weeks ago, the same can't be said for Forest. The Rattlers claimed a resounding 33-0 win over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Rattlers, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Wekiva better keep an eye on Hannah Mason. She was instrumental in Belleview's win, throwing for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 84.6% of her passes, and also rushing for 35 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Mason has posted since back in March.

Belleview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Wehrmann and Cammi Satterfield. Wehrmann got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Belleview, bringing their record up to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games. As for Wekiva, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
