Baseball Game Preview: Dexter Dreadnaughts vs. Skyline Eagles

For the second straight game, Dexter will face off against Skyline. The Dreadnaughts will head out to square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dexter's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Skyline's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Dexter fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Skyline on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-7. The Dreadnaughts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jack Sayler and Carter Haist stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sayler went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Haist went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double. That double was Haist's first of the season.

Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Dexter, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
