Baseball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Independence Eagles by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Admirals just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Franklin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Vallone, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Cory Hoard, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Independence, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

While Franklin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
