Soccer Game Preview: Circle vs. El Dorado

The Circle Thunderbirds will square off against the El Dorado Wildcats on Thursday. Circle will be strutting in after a win while El Dorado will be coming in after a loss.

Circle headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Mulvane let them put that streak behind them. The Thunderbirds had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for Circle as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, El Dorado fell victim to Arkansas City and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for El Dorado in their meetings with Arkansas City: they've now lost six in a row.

Circle's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 4-6-1. As for El Dorado, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6-2.

Circle took their victory against El Dorado when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 7-3 score. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
