Baseball Game Preview: San Ramon Valley Wolves vs. California Grizzlies

For the second straight game, San Ramon Valley will face off against California. The Wolves will head out to face off against the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. San Ramon Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so California's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

San Ramon Valley was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against California, sneaking past 5-4. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Cole Haughton looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because San Ramon Valley is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mitch Nelson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for San Ramon Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lucas Glazier, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The victory got San Ramon Valley back to even at 10-10. As for California, they moved to 12-8 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
