Basketball Recap: Keyon Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rosedale Christian Academy over Corvian Community

On Friday, the Rosedale Christian Academy Rosedale Panthers ended up a good deal behind the Corvian Community Cardinals and lost 82-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (61), the Rosedale Panthers still had to take the loss.

Rosedale Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keyon Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Williams has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Jai'Saun Williams was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 21 points.

Rosedale Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Corvian Community, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Rosedale Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mount Zion Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Mount Zion Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Corvian Community, they and Reidsville will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Reidsville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Corvian Community surely won't give up without a fight.
