Basketball Game Preview: Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets vs. Penfield Patriots

The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets will take on the Penfield Patriots in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Penfield is hoping to do what Victor couldn't on Friday: put an end to Rush-Henrietta's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Rush-Henrietta walked away with a 64-54 win over Victor.

Avery Council had an outrageously good game as he went 12 of 19 en route to 34 points and seven rebounds. Those 34 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Taggart, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Penfield posted their closest victory since January 12th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 win over Webster Schroeder. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Rush-Henrietta's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Penfield, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Rush-Henrietta came out on top in a nail-biter against Penfield when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 66-64. Does Rush-Henrietta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Penfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
