Mart dropped down to 5-5 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Goldthwaite Eagles, falling 40-14. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 46-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Ayden Lauderdale threw for 64 yards on six of 16 attempts. Damian Davis was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, Carmelo Medlock rushed for 68 yards.

As for Goldthwaite, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.7 points over those games.

Aidyn Lee went supernova, picking up 203 receiving yards and three TDs.

Mart and Goldthwaite are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Panthers will host Cumby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mart will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests. As for Goldthwaite, they will face off against Maud at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
