Basketball Game Preview: Stanton Mustangs vs. Clarkson/Leigh Patriots

Stanton is 0-10 against Clarkson/Leigh since February of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Stanton Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Clarkson/Leigh took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stanton, who comes in off a win.

Stanton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Winside 62-30 on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Wildcats are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clarkson/Leigh lost to Pierce on the road by a 53-35 margin on Tuesday.

Stanton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for Clarkson/Leigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
