Softball Game Preview: Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic vs. Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs

The Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic are taking a road trip to square off against the Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Monday, Mt. St. Joseph Academy came up short against Plymouth Whitemarsh and fell 5-2. The Magic have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Gwynedd Mercy Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Central Bucks South, falling 15-5.

Natalie Kelley was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Payton Krapf also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Mt. St. Joseph Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Gwynedd Mercy Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Mt. St. Joseph Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Gwynedd Mercy Academy in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Magic since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
