Football Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lakeside extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-9. They took a blow against the Edgewood Warriors, falling 50-6. The matchup marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jj Murphy threw for 159 yards and one touchdown. Dae'Veon Gaines was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards.

As for Edgewood, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than JJ Dufour, who threw for 314 yards and six TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 39 yards. Dufour's passing game has become a key predictor of the Warriors' success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Jasiah Pope was Dufour's top target, picking up 165 receiving yards and three scores.

Lakeside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edgewood, they will head out to face off against Norton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
