Live Oak and St. Amant are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Live Oak Eagles will head out on the road to take on the St. Amant Gators at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Live Oak came up short against Denham Springs on Friday, falling 74-53. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, St. Amant came up short against Walker on Friday and fell 77-64. The Gators have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Amant's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Live Oak, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Live Oak suffered a grim 68-42 defeat to St. Amant in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Live Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
