Volleyball Game Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Richard Pioneers

After both having extra time off, the Carlson Marauders and the Richard Pioneers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carlson has three straight victories, Richard has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Carlson had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Lincoln Park on Thursday. The Marauders blew past the Railsplitters 3-0. The Marauders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 3-0).

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Richard and Shrine Catholic had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pioneers fell 3-1 to the Knights on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19.

Carlson's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Richard, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5-1.
