Community School of Davidson faced Pine Lake Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans blew past the Pride 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won six matches in a row.

Community School of Davidson never let Pine Lake Prep on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-20.

Rory Boyle paced Community School of Davidson's offense, picking up 13 kills. Boyle got some help from Lila English and her 34 assists. Finally, Boyle was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Pine Lake Prep lost, don't look at Kate Craver. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and two assists.

Community School of Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Pine Lake Prep, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 15-3 record.
