Baseball Game Preview: Independence Eagles vs. Beech Buccaneers

For the second straight game, Independence will face off against Beech. The Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Independence's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.

Independence is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Beech, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Independence was ranked 17th). The Eagles walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Buccaneers on Thursday.

For Beech's part, Wyatt Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Reece Morrow was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Beech, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 25-17 record.
