Basketball Recap: New Haven Comes Up Short

New Haven lost against Bellmont back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Haven Bulldogs were dealt an 80-37 defeat at the hands of the Bellmont Braves. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Braves are ranked 24th).

When it comes to explaining why New Haven lost, don't look at A'Lanah Webb. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 16 on her way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Goodrich, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points.

New Haven's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Bellmont, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

When New Haven and Bellmont next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. New Haven will try to stop Warsaw's 13-game winning streak when the meet at 11:00 a.m. on January 4, 2025. Meanwhile, Bellmont will square off against Eastside and their 12-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
