Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Reds vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

For the second straight game, Cedar will face off against Crimson Cliffs. The Reds are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cedar came into this matchup off a tough 13-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Crimson Cliffs by a score of 12-10 on Wednesday. The Reds haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

For Crimson Cliffs' part, AUSTIN SMITH was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. EZRA LEWELLEN also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Crimson Cliffs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Crimson Cliffs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Cedar, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
