Baseball Recap: Delmarva Christian Drops Season-High Score on Sts. Peter & Paul

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delmarva Christian). They put the hurt on the Sts. Peter & Paul Sabres with a sharp 15-5 win on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Royals as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jackson Ward and Malachi Jones were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Ward pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Jones pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. At the plate, Ward went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI, while Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That home run was Ward's first of the season.

In other batting news, Silas Jones was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Malachi Light, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Delmarva Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Delmarva Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delmarva Christian will head out to face off against Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, they will venture away from home to square off against Park School at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
