Softball Recap: Liberty's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Liberty won against Hemet last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bison beat the Arlington Lions by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Bison, who have now won six games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jennessy Lopez, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Cameryn Rutkoff was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lopez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

Liberty's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Coming up, Liberty will square off against Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arlington, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Arlington Lions take on Canyon Springs Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (they 3.8, Canyon Springs 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
