Softball Recap: North Mason Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Olympic, North Mason was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against Ellensburg by a score of 10-6. The high-scoring effort was just what North Mason needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Addyson Roy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Madison, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylani Ivie, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

North Mason has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Ellensburg, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5-1.

North Mason will have a chance to go back-to-back against Ellensburg: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
