Baseball Game Preview: Trimble County Raiders vs. Newport Wildcats

The Trimble County Raiders will face off against the Newport Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Trimble County and 58 for Newport dating back to last season.

Trimble County fell victim to Owen County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rebels.

Dayton hit Newport with a eight-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 12-1 to the Greendevils.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-33. As for Trimble County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Trimble County's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game.
