Football Game Preview: Gosnell Pirates vs. Southside Southerners

The Gosnell Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Southside Southerners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (Gosnell has eight wins , while Southside has seven).

On Friday, Gosnell blew past Blytheville, posting a 47-12 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Pirates just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Southside against Highland on Friday as the team secured a 38-6 victory. The Southerners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Gosnell's record now sits at 8-0. As for Southside, their record is now 7-0.

Gosnell took a serious blow against Southside when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 50-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Southerners' Owen McLaughlin, who rushed for 166 yards and three scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 74 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
