Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upper Moreland). They put the hurt on the William Tennent Panthers with a sharp 14-5 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Zach O'Connor looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Upper Moreland got a massive performance out of Patrick Kilgus, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kilgus also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chase Moore, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Upper Moreland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Upper Moreland's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for William Tennent, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
