Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Oakland

Oakland entered their tilt with Glendale on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Oakers have posted since March 20, 2024.

Maddie Dalberti made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Kelsie Pfaff was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

Oakland now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Glendale, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Coming up, Oakland will face off against Yoncalla at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Oakers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Glendale, they will welcome Days Creek at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
