Recap: Imagine School at North Port Sharks vs. Lemon Bay Manta Rays

Even though the Imagine School at North Port Sharks have not done well against the Lemon Bay Manta Rays recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Imagine School at North Port walked away with a 92-80 victory over Lemon Bay. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Imagine School at North Port got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Angelo Blas out in front who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zahmir Jackson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Despite the defeat, Lemon Bay saw an underclassman step up: Elias Gambrell dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gambrell scored 15 or more points. Luke Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.

Even though they lost, Lemon Bay were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win makes it two in a row for Imagine School at North Port and bumps their season record up to 8-12. As for Lemon Bay, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Imagine School at North Port will be playing in front of their home fans against Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lemon Bay on the road again on Saturday and play against Cape Coral at 7:40 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Cape Coral's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
