Recap: Arabia Mountain Rams vs. M.L. King Lions
In what's become a running theme this season, the Arabia Mountain Rams gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past M.L. King 97-27 at home. Arabia Mountain's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Arabia Mountain found their leader in underclassman Shanya Heath, who scored 31 points along with six assists and five steals. Heath has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Billingsley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.
The victory (which was Arabia Mountain's eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for M.L. King, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Arabia Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Drew has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. M.L. King's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Chamblee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Georgia (the Bulldogs are ranked 203rd, while the Lions are ranked 433rd).
