Volleyball Game Preview: Newport Wildcats vs. Heritage Academy Eagles

Newport is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Heritage Academy a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Newport Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Heritage Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Heritage Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Newport, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Newport turned things around against Holmes on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 2-1.

Heritage Academy had taken Ludlow down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the Panthers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 24, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Newport, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-14.

Newport skirted past Heritage Academy 2-1 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
