Basketball Recap: NSU University Sharks vs. Palmer Trinity Falcons

NSU University has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to the Palmer Trinity Falcons on the road by a 50-35 margin on Saturday. The Sharks lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 52-8 score last time.

Despite the defeat, NSU University saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tatum Billie posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Billie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Cohen-Osceola, who had six points and seven rebounds.

Emma Esparza was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points along with seven assists and six boards for Palmer Trinity. Aaliyah Wright was another key player, posting eight points and 11 rebounds.

NSU University's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Palmer Trinity, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
