Basketball Recap: Greater Latrobe's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Greater Latrobe's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down the Laurel Highlands Mustangs 61-47. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Mustangs are ranked 442nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Laurel Highlands had strong showings from Aiden Black, who posted 15 points, and Tyrone Burton, who put up ten points. Another player making a difference was Antwan Black, who had eight points.

Greater Latrobe's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Laurel Highlands, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Greater Latrobe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-55 win against Monessen on the 21st.
