Volleyball Recap: Odyssey Institute Comes Up Short

Odyssey Institute lost against Valley Christian on April 11th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Minotaur lost 3-0 to the Trojans.

Odyssey Institute took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Max Diaz-Gonzalez and Preston Baer, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Sebastian Cano and his six assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Odyssey Institute has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season. As for Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Odyssey Institute wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against North Valley Christian Academy on the 1st. As for Valley Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Leading Edge Academy - GEC on the 1st.
