Volleyball Recap: Munster Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Munster had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Highland on Thursday. The Mustangs blew past the Trojans 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Munster was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 25-19.

Munster can attribute much of their success to Leah Selin, who had six digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Selin a new career-high. Morgan Trotter also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Munster's win ended a seven-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-24-1. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 20 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Munster and Hammond Central will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 10:00 a.m. on the 18th. As for Highland, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against East Chicago Central on the 16th.
