Softball Recap: Robstown Takes a Loss

Robstown lost against Santa Gertrudis Academy back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Robstown Cottonpickers lost 18-3 to the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions.

Ariel Flores was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Karina Trevino, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Robstown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Coming up, Robstown will face off against George West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, they will challenge St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Santa Gertrudis Academy: 3.3, St. Joseph: 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
