3A District 1 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Bossier extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 1 this week by beating Loyola College Prep, 26-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bearkats.
North DeSoto took down Green Oaks 55-19 last week, the largest margin of any game.
North DeSoto's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Griffins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Austin Simmons has thrown for 228 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Damien Boone has four catches for 200 yards. Aurren Cooksey leads the league in rushing with 587 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Flyers take on the Griffins. At the moment, Loyola College Prep is in third, while North DeSoto is in first.
Scott Abernathy's team led 3A District 1 in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Giants.
