Volleyball Recap: Grovetown's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Grovetown took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Greenbrier, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Wolfpack on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Grovetown found their leader in sophomore Adelena Marquez, who had 13 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Marquez is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Grovetown's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Greenbrier, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Grovetown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Harlem on the 19th. As for Greenbrier, they will head out on the road to challenge Oconee County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
