Hancock County and Apollo are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Hancock County Hornets will be playing at home against the Apollo Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Hancock County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-60 to Meade County. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Green Waves recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Apollo suffered their biggest defeat since February 9, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by Daviess County 72-38. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Panthers are ranked 35th).

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Hancock County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Hancock County couldn't quite finish off Apollo in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 39-37. Can Hancock County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
